About Me
Hello my name is Theresa and i'm a Clinical Reflexologist. My journey into Reflexology began by wanting a better work, home life balance around my children and the stresses of my current job working in the NHS as a Pharmacy Technician, impacts on my physical and emotional health. I have always had an interest in Reflexology and have wanted to learn more but have never fulfilled that interest until now. I trained at the Contemporary Reflexology College Birmingham by Alison Walker and successfully went on to achieve the Level 5 Diploma in Practitioner Reflexology. which is currently the highest standard of Reflexology throughout the UK and is equivalent to a level 5 qualification in Europe. The diploma includes an in-depth knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Business planning.
I am registered with the Association of Reflexology (AOR)
and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (cnhc).

What Is Reflexology
Reflexology is a complementary health therapy and works by applying pressure on the reflexes on the feet, hands and ears and by doing this it corresponds to all areas of the body including gland, tissue, muscle and organs. This can help promote natural healing within the body and help alleviate any stresses that you may have. Each and everyone of us have some degrees of stress in our lifetime and it can manifest in many ways, whether it be physically or emotionally. Reflexology can aid with stress, studies have shown that it can improve moods, help you to feel more relaxed, which in turn helps you to feel less tense. It can also aid sleep.
Treatments

Foot Reflexology
Foot Reflexology is an holistic therapy that works by applying gentle pressure to the reflexes on the feet which correspond to all areas of the body. It is done by using thumbs mainly but fingers are used also with some techniques.Â
It can be enjoyed by all as it is suitable for all ages, including babies. Reflexology is used to release tension and stress mainly, but it can also increase blood circulation , release toxins, reduce and diminish pain and can induce a deep state of relaxation

Hand Reflexology
Hand Reflexology can be enjoyed by anyone. It can be used as a stand alone treatment or can be incorporated with the feet or ears for a more in depth treatment. Hand reflexology is just as effective as foot reflexology and it has the advantage for clients to be involved in there own healing response by doing techniques at home which are demonstrated by Theresa.
The advantages of working with the hands for some clients is that it has the benefits of that caring touch and closeness to the client, very important if that client has very little contact with the outside world.

Auricular Reflexology (Ear)
Ear reflexology is a form of accupuncture but instead of using needles, fingers are used and accupressure is applied to the reflexes of the ears. Alternatively the use of a probe can be used instead of manual techniques, effective also when you need to get into the more intricate areas or pinpoint a particular reflex for an ear seed to be placed. Ear reflexology is simple, safe and very effective, especially for pain relief. It can also improve circulation, it balances the body and is relaxing and calming. Can also be used as a stand alone treatment or in conjunction with foot, hand and facial reflexology. As with hand Reflexology clients can work their ears effectively between treatments to achieve maximum results.
The use of ear seeds can be incorporated in your treatment, this is usually done after. Ear seeds come in many forms, ie, magnet, crystal wood and minerals. The idea of using ear seeds is that it reinforces your treatment. By pressing the seeds 3 to 4 times daily for approximately 1 to 2 minutes using a press and release technique which will be demonstrated by Theresa. Ear seeds are worn between 3 to 5 days and are easily removed. Care must be taken when using ear seeds as your ears can be prone to infections.

Bergman Method
Facial Reflexology
Facial Reflexology is just as effective as foot reflexology, its focuses on the reflexes on the face to help stimulate the body's natural ability to heal by improving circulation and encouraging detoxification from the body via the lymphatics system. This inturn restores natural balance within the body. Benefits of facial Reflexology is it aims to relieve the effects of stress, improve circulation and can bring the effects of calmness within you.
